Resolving login problems for Remote Access Lync clients running Windows XP (SP3)

If you have pc clients using Windows XP (SP3 is only supported) that are attempting to logon to an Edge Lync Server for remote access you may see this error on the Lync client:

“Unable to logon, please verify you logon credentials”
Make this change to the registry on the xp/vista machines:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa\MSV1_0]
“NtlmMinClientSec”=dword:20080000
“NtlmMinServerSec”=dword:20080000
Note: the entry 20080000 is hexadecimal

Reboot and logon should work.
